What to Expect?

Every face tells a story, even the ones that begin as simple doodles. Turning Doodles into Characters is a hands-on workshop where participants explore how a few lines can capture personality, emotion and attitude. Through quick drawing exercises and guided observation, we’ll move from playful doodles to fully realized characters that express distinct moods and identities. Participants will experiment with exaggeration, proportion and gesture to understand how subtle changes in line or shape transform meaning. By the end of the session, they’ll have a toolkit of expressive techniques and a few original characters born from their own mark-making style.

Whether you draw for fun, storytelling, or design, this session invites you to rediscover the human face — not as anatomy, but as emotion, story and character.

Do You Need to Bring Anything?

  • A few reference photos of faces that interest you of friends, family or expressive portraits (printed or on your phone)
  • An open mind, be ready to play, experiment and let your lines take on a life of their own

Who Can Join?

Anyone, you can be a beginner or seasoned artist, basically anyone looking to participate in a creative challenge.
